I was a gruelling 12 hour days sanding floors and tear down wallpaper one baby strapped to my back and the others climbing inside the playpen. Ha! We were getting closer to being done, yet the project was still a distance away. There were open houses in my home that saw more than 1 000 visitors came through on one weekend, and buy anything they saw on the ground floor. My company Growing Days began here. Apart from my successful business, I also had the pleasure of growing our family. The balance between work and family was crucial to me. I wanted to be a mom and also a successful business owner. Growing Days was the obvious decision. My sweet Nora came into the world in 2013, our fourth child. While I was pleased with the direction that my business went, I was feeling like I needed to take an occasional break. I decided to step back to spend time at home, with my kids. This was precisely what I required. The phone rang again after several minutes. Many people called me to ask for advice regarding home improvements and decor. These people had mostly attended my house during the open houses that were held for furniture. It didn't seem long until I had a fully-fledged house renovation business. I began by taking clients on one in a manner that I could be at ease with. I'm sure you would have made me laugh if I had told you that it would be the foundation of a DIY Network tv series. It's hilarious to look back about the idea.
