Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 at the Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics instructor who became Comaneci's coach later in life, discovered her at age six. The first time she competed at the junior national championships in 1969 and finished 13th. She was the winner in 1970. At her first international competition in 1972, she won the event having won three golds. At her first competitive event at the senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva of Russia won five gold medals aswell with one silver. She took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympics. She also was the first female ever to remove the parallel bars with a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was in her teens she was performing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, at Chicago Illinois US. Carol entered the entertainment industry in her teens. Her first professional gig was figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment show Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating events which included stage performances.
